The Organization Name element is a special element that makes the organization name appear prominently in your submission list as the 'Associated Organization' as well as at the top of your submission details page. If you use a simple text field to collect organization name, the submitted value will appear in your reports, but not be elevated to these other locations.
NOTE: If you have multiple 'Organization Name' elements on your form, the one closest to the top of the form will be the one that is treated in a special way.
How Using The Organization Name Helps You
When you use the Organization Name field, it will appear in the Submission List as the 'Associated Organization' column and it will also appear at the top of your submission details page. Additionally, if the selected organization has a profile on Do Some Good, the organization name in the Submission List and Details page will be linked to that profile.
One big advantage to being listed as the 'Associated Organization' is you can use the search tool to quickly and easily find organizations that you have supported in previous submissions with just a few key strokes.
It is also an advantage to people filling out your forms as they can search for existing organizations making filling out the form easier. If a person enters the name of a new organization, they will be given the opportunity to register for a free organization account and if they do it will automatically be linked to your business as a supported organization.
